RugbySA Elizabeth v Onkaparinga Rd2

Elizabeth left it late to secure a dramatic win over Onkaparinga in Round 2 of the RUSA Premier Grade competition while Woodville earned bragging rights in the women's grand final rematch against Southern Suburbs.

In the livestreamed match of the round, Elizabeth overcame a send-off and two yellow cards to break Onka hearts in a 36-29 thriller at Womma Park.

The Knights were reduced to 14 men early with centre Aborosio Buli shown red for foul play and an Onkas boilover loomed after Jake Granger put his side ahead 26-17 midway through the second half.

But Elizabeth's flying backs proved the difference late with standout duo Jovesa Bola and Meli Kaloutagitagi scoring runaway tries in the final quarter to seal a seven-point win.

Both Bola and Kaloautagitagi finished with a brace while Knights flyhalf Viliame Namoumou also impressed with 11 points off the tee.

Onkas playmaker Dusty Loffler was terrific in a losing side, bagging 19 points including two first-half tries.

In other Premier Grade results, Souths banked a 27-12 away win over Woodville with winger Tilly Bici and centre Atino Vaihu banking doubles while defending premiers Burnside comfortably accounted for Barossa 39-12 at Parkinson Oval.

Brighton sit atop the ladder after Round 2 following a 73-5 win over Adelaide Uni with Old Collegians also piling maximum points from a 69-14 win over Port Adelaide.

In the women's competition, Victoria Cousins banked 15 points as Woodville banished their grand final demons with a 40-12 thrashing of Souths.

Onkas joined them in the winners circle following a 24-22 thriller over Adelaide Uni while a Nikki Kelly hat-trick headlined Burnside's 81-0 win over Barossa.

Brighton, Old Colls and Souths remain atop the Reserve Grade ladder after posting back-to-back wins and North Torrens continue to impress in 2024's Third Grade competition, currently sitting equal first with Brighton Gold and Burnside following a 33-15 win over Souths.
