Sporting Schools | Get into Rugby

Rugby Union South Australia is proud to offer two exciting, curriculum-aligned programs for primary schools: Get Into Rugby Schools and Tri-Tag Schools. These programs introduce students to rugby through safe, engaging and age-appropriate activities designed to build confidence, teamwork and fundamental movement skills.

Both programs can be fully funded through Sporting Schools by registering your school for funding and selecting Rugby Union SA as your chosen sport. Alternatively, you can contact us directly and we will work with you to customise a program to your school’s needs.

Get Into Rugby Schools is a 3–5 week program designed as the perfect entry point for beginners. Delivered during curriculum time, this program helps students learn the basics of rugby through fun, structured sessions and is directly linked to Rugby Australia’s national pathway.

Tri Tag Rugby offers a safe, inclusive and fast-paced alternative to the traditional game. The modified format helps challenge outdated perceptions of rugby and encourages broad participation by removing barriers such as contact. Students develop confidence while learning core skills transferable across all rugby formats.
