RugbySA welcomes Rhianna Burke as our new Female Participation Lead, a key appointment that reinforces our commitment to strengthening and growing the women’s and girls’ game across the state.

Rhianna has previously worked as a development officer in Southern Inland with the ACT Brumbies, where she worked closely with stakeholders to increase junior participation in particularly the females building from a 7s comp into XVs. She managed and assisted the Junior and Senior representative programs. Recently she has coached womens pathway representative teams at the Brumbies and delivered programs for Jindabyne Rugby Union Club where she was head coach and player.

Rhianna steps into the role at an exciting time for female rugby in South Australia. With participation continuing to build and new initiatives creating stronger pathways for players, her leadership will ensure our competitions are well-structured, well-supported and aligned to long-term growth.

For our clubs, Rhianna will be a hands-on resource and advocate - working closely with coaches to:

  • Strengthen communication and consistency across grades
  • Support recruitment, retention, and club development initiatives
  • Help create positive, professional match-day experience.

For our Match Officials, Rhianna will

  • Supporting education and growth in the game.
  • Looking for opportunities to expose and experience different levels of the game.
  • Help strengthen the relationship between clubs and Match Officials.

Welcome to South Australia, Rhianna!
