We are delighted to announce the appointment of Ali Clarke to the Board of Rugby Union South Australia (Rugby SA).
Ali joins the Board as a highly respected communications specialist and passionate advocate for sport in South Australia. In her current role with Sport SA, she leads strategic messaging and community engagement for the state’s peak sporting body, bringing deep insight into the power of sport to connect and inspire communities.
With more than 20 years’ experience in Australian media, Ali has hosted top-rating breakfast radio programs across ABC Adelaide, Mix 102.3, and Triple M Adelaide, alongside reporting roles with Channel 9 Adelaide and The Advertiser. She has also served as a sports columnist for The Advertiser and InDaily, further cementing her reputation as a trusted voice in South Australian sport.
Ali’s governance experience includes advisory and board roles across the not-for-profit sector and major sporting events, including the Local Advisory Committee for the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships and The Sports Network. She is also the founder of a communications consultancy supporting leaders, researchers and organisations to communicate with clarity, purpose and impact.
Known for her strategic storytelling, strong community connection and commitment to inclusive, grassroots sport, Ali brings a powerful blend of governance expertise, media acumen and genuine passion for rugby.
Growing up in Queensland, rugby was central to Ali’s life - playing, studying and embracing the values the game instils.
“Growing up in Queensland, rugby was everything - I played it, studied it, and loved every part of what the game teaches you. Joining the RugbySA board is a chance to help the sport continue to grow here, especially with the momentum of the upcoming World Cups. Most importantly, I want to make sure we keep inviting people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to come in, give it a go, and fall in love with rugby the way I did.”
We are thrilled to welcome Ali to Rugby SA and look forward to the insight, leadership and energy she will bring as we continue to grow the game across South Australia.
