Rugby volunteers give their time and energy with little thought of reward.

That being said, a positive experience (and a bit of recognition) plays a significant part in keeping rugby volunteers engaged.

Opportunities to volunteer in rugby are available across a wide variety of roles and tasks. Some include coaching, managers, marshals, event organisers, team uniform managers, treasurers and board members.

In 2024, Rugby Union SA have developed a Volunteer Recognition Program where we encourage our community to nominate an individual who goes above and beyond, someone who enhances the club experience and fosters a sense of community belonging.

Nominations received will be researched further and possibly highlighted with new stories featuring on our website and on social media channels, culminating in RUSA’s Volunteer of the Year announced at the RUSA Annual Awards Dinner.
