Brighton took out the inaugural Ted Fidock Trophy over Woodville in a 10-point thriller while Onkaparinga and Burnside also posted wins across Round 8.
The Tigers hosted Wasps in what shapes the first of many classic clashes for the Ted Fidock Trophy - named in honour of the two-time Don Smith medallist and RUSA life member - and emerged 34-24 winners after running in six tries to four.
Brighton surged either side of the halftime break with four tries in 19 minutes though Woodville's Kiall Whitcher ensured the Wasps wouldn't leave emptyhanded, scoring a double to wrap up a losing bonus point.
Elsewhere, Onkas produced a thrilling 43-41 win over Southern Suburbs at AA Bailey Reserve with halfback Kaedan O'Neill bagging two crucial tries for the visitors.
Both sides crossed for seven tries in a high-scoring encounter but it Onkas' sharpshooter Dusty Loffler who ultimately proved the difference.
Reigning champions Burnside rounded out the Premier Grade fixtures with a hard-fought 40-27 win over Adelaide University at Parkinson Oval.
Keanu Eliepa headlined Burnside's victory with a 20-point haul - including two tries and five conversions - though University scrapped hard to earn a losing bonus point in a six-tries-to-five defeat.
In the Women's competition, Woodville and Burnside earned bonus-point wins over Barossa/Brighton and Adelaide University respectively with Wasps' Paige Karpany and Burnside's Manamen Sumaoro scoring trebles.
Onkas' 24-22 win over Souths sees them leapfrog Old Colls into second place on the Reserve Grade ladder behind unbeaten Brighton while Burnside hopped atop the Third Grade table following their 53-18 Kan van Diermen Memorial Cup win over University.
