Some people give their time. Others give their energy. And then there are people like Ollie - who give everything to their club.
For more than 7 years, Ollie has been a constant at Onkaparinga Rugby Club - quite literally the first to arrive every Saturday. While most are still waking up, Ollie is already on site before 6am, spending hours setting up fields to ensure the day runs smoothly for players, coaches, officials and families. It’s a behind-the-scenes role that often goes unnoticed, but it’s one that is vital to a thriving club.
A passionate junior coach for the past 7 years, he has helped shape the next generation of players – including leading last year’s premiership-winning Under 12s. His impact on young players goes far beyond results, creating an environment where kids can learn, grow and love the game. At the same time, Ollie has continually stepped up wherever needed across the senior program, managing Third Grade for two years and coaching for four – bringing the same energy, care and commitment to players at every stage of their rugby journey.
Off the field, his influence is just as strong. As a dedicated Committee member over the past three years, Ollie has taken on responsibility for club merchandise, helping drive both club identity and professionalism. Add to that over 100 senior games as a player, and it’s clear his connection to the club runs deep.
Onkaparinga has built a reputation as a welcoming, hardworking and community-focused club – one that develops players from juniors through to senior rugby and beyond. Volunteers like Ollie are the reason that culture exists and continues to grow.
Thank you, Ollie.
