Old Collegians continued their blistering start to the 2025 RUSA Premier Grade season with a 80-point thumping of Barossa Rams in Round 6.
Liam McDonough’s hat-trick headlined a 94-14 win on home soil that extended Old Colls’ unbeaten streak to five games.
Stewart Nutt, Samuela Tanaki and Jack Bell also bagged braces throughout Old Colls’ 13-try performance while Carl Arnold contributed 34 points including a try, 10 conversions and three penalty goals.
Meanwhile Jaden Phillips’ five-try showing spearheaded Brighton’s 89-5 win over Adelaide University before Keanu Eliepa’s 20-point haul helped Burnside home 45-26 against a dogged Southern Suburbs.
Earlier, Souths fared better in the women’s fixture with Teanu Karpani and Shiloh Tappouras scoring two tries apiece in their 29-17 win over Burnside while Port Collegians and Onkaparinga racked up bonus points wins over Barossa/Brighton and Adelaide Uni respectively.
The results set up a massive Round 7 clash between Onkas and Woodville after Onka's 33-0 win over Adelaide Uni saw them leapfrog Wasps into second place behind unbeaten Souths.
Elsewhere, Brighton (6-0) maintained their unbeaten start to the Reserves season with a 68 point win over Adelaide Uni while Burnside’s 76-12 defeat of Souths saw them leapfrog the Tigers into first place on the Third Grade ladder.
