Farewell & Thank You, Carl Jones!
After an incredible career with Rugby SA, we say farewell and thank you to Carl Jones for his dedication and passion for growing rugby in South Australia.
Carl’s journey with Rugby SA began in 2004, and across two appointments (2004-2013 & 2016-2025), he has made a remarkable impact in roles including Development Officer, Competition Manager, General Manager, and most recently, CEO.
His leadership has been instrumental in bringing high-profile rugby events to South Australia, including:
- NRC (2019)
- Wallabies & Wallaroos games (2022)
- British & Irish Lions Tour (2025)
- Rugby World Cup games (2027)
Carl’s contributions as both an employee and volunteer have left an unforgettable legacy in our rugby community.
From Carl: “It is with mixed emotions that I write to inform you that my contract with Rugby SA will conclude on May 8th.
Throughout my tenure, my number one priority has always been servicing our community and ensuring that everyone's experience with rugby is as positive and rewarding as possible.
The past two decades have been filled with remarkable experiences and achievements that I will forever cherish. None of these accomplishments would have been possible without the dedication and passion of our players, coaches, staff, and most importantly volunteers.
Rugby SA has always been more than just an organisation to me; it has been a family and a home. The relationships formed and the memories created will remain with me long after my departure.
As I prepare for this transition, I reflect with immense gratitude on the opportunity I've had to contribute to the growth and development of rugby in South Australia. I am confident that the foundation we have built together will continue to support the flourishing of our beloved sport for generations to come.
I look forward to watching Rugby SA's continued success and will always remain one of its most ardent supporters.”
