Foundations
For the first time in Australian Rugby, all clubs across South Australia will have access to the same fundraising toolkit thanks to the Australian Rugby Foundation (ARF) and the Australian Sports Foundation.
The new toolkit offers top tips, strategies and case studies to help execute a successful fundraising campaign.
The ARF will run fundraising workshops with interested clubs and tournament organisers to help them replicate fundraising at a local level.
For any clubs even small donations can help buy essential equipment such as tackle bags, or help reduce the cost of playing for junior players.
Donations can be tax-deductible through the Australian Sports Foundation, which provides an extra incentive to donors to provide the funding support.
The Australian Rugby Foundation is Rugby Australia’s national fundraising body and since kicking off in 2014 have made a significant contribution to the game from the grassroots level to the elite.
As well as raising funds for high performance and player welfare, the foundation has granted $390,000 for grassroots Rugby, $125,000 for women’s Rugby and $25,000 for Indigenous Rugby.
It’s led to them being listed in the top four Australian Sport Fundraisers following a 52% increase in donations over the last 12 months.
