Western Force Academy SA 2026 Intake Announced
Rugby Union SA is proud to announce the inaugural intake of athletes selected into the Western Force Academy SA program for 2026.
The Western Force Academy SA trials were held in January, with 82 players invited to attend and be assessed ahead of the program’s first official intake. The depth of talent on display reinforced the strength and potential of South Australia’s emerging rugby pathway.
Led by SA Director of Rugby Troy Doughty and Western Force Academy Head Damian Steele, players were put through their paces across a series of high-performance assessments aligned with the Western Force’s national pathway standards. Athletes were evaluated on their technical skill execution, physical capability, game understanding, and overall readiness to progress within an elite development environment.
Following a comprehensive review process, our first-ever inductees have now been confirmed.
These selected athletes will commence their Academy journey across three intensive training blocks throughout 2026, where they will be immersed in a professional high-performance framework designed to accelerate their development and prepare them for future representative opportunities.
