The Southern States Junior Championship - commonly referred to as "Southern States" - brings together the best youngsters from non-traditional and emerging Member Unions for a four-day tournament.

Congratulations to Victoria who swept the U14 boys and girls competitions on Wednesday - well done to all players and staff involved!

Thursday and Friday saw the U16s and U18s in action with Victoria dominating the U16s boys and girls divisions.

A mixed Barbarians side (NT/VIC/TAS) also went 2-0 against South Australia before the hosts claimed bragging rights in the showpiece U18 boys event, defeating Victoria 29-21 in the decider.

What's the tournament format?

Each state team will play four games across two days - three round robin fixtures before a final play-off.

Play-off positions will be determined by rank following round robin (i.e. 1 v 2 & 3 v 4)

This format applies to all divisions excluding the U14 and U18 girls.

July 9-10 sees the U14s in action with U16s and U18s to follow on July 11-12.
