Selection Criteria
The Selection Committee shall consider a candidate’s outstanding services and overall contribution to the game of Rugby Union in South Australia for induction to the Hall of Fame. Without limiting the above, the Selection Committee may consider a candidate’s individual record, ability, integrity, sportsmanship and character.
The number of rugby games played, coached or refereed or the years of service shall only be a consideration and shall not be conclusive for induction to the Hall of Fame.
Candidates shall be judged on the basis of their overall contribution to rugby union as opposed to one specific aspect.
There shall be no special order of precedence given to Hall of Fame inductees. The career statistics of each nomination may be astonishing, but the stories and achievements behind each nomination reveal their true greatness.
Annual review of eligible persons
Nominations will be sent through to Rugby Union SA.
All nominations will be passed on to the Board of Rugby Union SA where they will either accept or reject the nomination. The board may choose to consult with others outside the board if they need clarification or assistance in making a recommendation to the Members at the AGM.
Once Hall of Fame Membership is awarded, new inductees will be recognized as a “Hall of Fame Member” at the RUSA Annual Awards night and will be provided with a framed picture which will note their achievements contained within their nomination.
